Spring is here!

Spring is here!

Spring is here and we’re welcoming the seasonal change with an excuse to refresh our interiors.

When we’re not inhaling the flowering jasmine in bloom and enjoying the rest of spring’s perks, we’ll be inside doing our best to bring the outdoors in.

Here’s how we’ll be injecting that joyous spring energy into our homes with Bonnie and Neil.

Make room for something new

We’ll be kicking things off with a good decluttering session. We’ll be restyling our bookshelves, reorganising the linen closet, and doing a good inventory of the wardrobe (and hopefully rediscovering a few lost favourites along the way!).

Taking stock of what we have and what we can part with makes it a lot easier to see what we need and can ‘add to cart’.

Treat your home decor like your wardrobe

When it comes to fashion, what works in summer doesn’t necessarily work in winter. This spring we’re putting away the dark, moody tones that we were happy to hibernate with all winter long in exchange for brighter hues in orange and fuchsia mixed with muddy khaki and chartreuse.

The arrival of spring is also a good opportunity to invest in transeasonal fabrics that work year-round. Linen, cotton, boucle and even velvet are all in our Bonnie and Neil fabric library and feature in some of our most-loved pieces. In spring we love pairing a pretty floral cushion with our boucle cushions and almost any cushion with an interesting trim or fringe – it’s the embellishment we can’t resist.

Show your couch some kindness

Cushions get a lot of attention around here (and rightly so!) but a good cushion is nothing without an equally good couch or armchair to perch on.

We’ll be showing our couch and armchair some kindness after their years of service with an annual spring steam clean. You would be surprised at how even the most tired of couches and armchairs can look almost new with a professional clean.

Our almost new couch will definitely be deserving of some very new cushions, and we’ll be adorning ours with Rosetta Saffron Cushion, Herb Reverse Pink Cushion, and Thin Stripe Yellow Cushion.

Give your bedroom an instant boost

We’ve got the step ladder out and are putting our winter doona, weighted blankets and wool throws in the linen closet while we give our bedroom a spring update.

The look, feel and tone of your bedroom can feel instantly re-energised with the right assortment of cushions but to get the look right we follow a simple styling recipe: Choose a tonal palette.

Mix print. Work with an odd number of cushions in different sizes. Scatter liberally. This spring we’ll be reaching for Cloud Cocoa Boucle Cushion, Cloud Pink Boucle Cushion and Rosetta Red Cushion from our latest collection.

Set the scene with pops of green

Spring usually coincides with the good glassware getting a dust, the barbecue coming out of winter purgatory and inviting friends over for alfresco twilight dinners.

We’ll be setting the scene for every meal with hints of green with our Carmine blue green outdoor cushions, Rosetta green linen tablecloth, a set of our Marumitsu plates and Fantasia cutlery set

If you need help refining your cushion edit to suit your space, we’d love to help! Please get in touch here.
