Sophie Bell stands with her styled table

Sophie Bell’s Guide to Hosting

Sophie Bell has a gift for creating beauty wherever she goes. From interiors to branding, her world is one of vibrant ideas and considered design. Now living with her family in Bali, Sophie brings that same creative magic to the way she gathers at home. For the very first lunch in her sun-drenched villa, she styled a dream table layered with abundant touches - a setting that feels joyful, generous, and unforgettable.

Here, Sophie shares her guide to hosting with style and ease.

.

“I love putting a table together for those we love the most. It brings me so much joy!”

1. Start with the flowers

Sophie always begins with blooms. Bold red flowers set the tone here, chosen to sing against the rich blue of our Sardine tablecloth. It’s a striking palette - fresh, fun, and full of energy.

2. Layer it up

Next comes visual layering: seasonal fruit, ceramics galore, sparkling glassware, and playful, interesting pieces (like a shell for serving salt) to nod to the Mediterranean mood. Each element adds depth and character, turning a simple meal into a visual feast.

3. Keep food generous

The menu is simple but celebratory - prawn pasta, fresh bread, and whipped butter. For Sophie, food is part of the styling; it should feel generous and inviting. “You can’t go wrong with prawn pasta- everyone loves it,” Sophie says.

4. Finish with texture

Tactile details elevate everything. The linen tablecloth and napkins feel luxe to the touch and add a sense of occasion. “It makes me so happy to be hosting again,” Sophie says. “I love putting a table together for those we love the most. It brings me so much joy.”
